So I've secretly been counting down the days until the kangaroos came to the Nashville Zoo...and they are finally here! Weston and I met Kate and Malley there yesterday am and I'd say it was a success! They did a great job on their habitat area. Weston was intrigued, that was his first time seeing a kangaroo! Malley did a great job showing Weston how to hop like one!
Ahhh...my pictures aren't uploading, there were only 4, but I'll try again later.

Wes, Weston, and I had the opportunity to spend Wed-Sun at the lake house in AL. We had Caleb, Jenny, and the girls to ourselves Wed-Fri. then Mom, Rach, and Russ joined us! We had a great time being together, laughing, watching satellites in the sky-yes satellites Jenny :), watching Rachel wakeboard, watching Jenny slalom, watching Caleb surf, watching the kids run around and play together, swimming in the pool, having Grandaddy Harvey milkshakes and chili-cheese dogs at The Palace, watching Bev rope steers, watching sunrises and sunsets...it was a great weekend.
Here are some pictures to recap our fun weekend!

While at the lake, we decided to take the kids over to Bev's arena to watch her practice ropin steers. Not sure who had more fun, the kids or the moms? Jenny and I both love horses and it was so fun to watch our kiddos sit up on Bev's big quarter horse, Stoner! Little cowboy/girl at heart!!

After church we had a picnic in the beautiful almost-fall-like weather! Daddy had to go qualify for a golf tournament, so naturally we went shopping! GieGie came with us and we went to the Cowboy Store that was closing and we ended up with a new pair of boots and wranglers- thanks GieGie!
Weston is so proud of his boots! After his nap time he woke up and said "boots on!"

I wanted to take time to write some things about Weston while he's currently 18 months, and not 18 years! Each age and stage is a learning process for both me and Weston, but I'm thinking this might be one of my favorite ages! (Yes I do say that with each age, but I love this age right now!)
Things Weston Says:
-Mama, Mooooom, Mommy
-Dad, Dad-aaa, Daddy
-Cu-Cu (cutter-our lab)
-Mee-Wee (mr. whitaker our chihuahua) Credits to aunt Jenny for starting the "mee-wee" nick-name!
-Sassy-paci (that we are trying to say bye-bye to)
-Eed book- (read book)
-Hold you (when he's wanting us to hold him)
-Hold you, My Daddy
-I side (I slide)
-I unt down (I want down)
-I hit (meaning he wants to hit a ball with his golf club)
-I unt moe-I want more
-Where'd it go?
-see em (see them)
Sounds he can make:
truck and tractor
Things Weston does:
Can point out his belly-button which he calls (butt-bees?)
Points to his ears, eyes, nose, teeth
Makes animal noises
Makes a scary face
marches and stomps
My personal favorites at this age...
-Weston loves to give hugs!
-When he makes his donkey noise, he puts both hands behind his head to make donkey ears as he says "ee-aaw"
-Lately when he stands on something (can be a chair, stool, book, anything on the ground) he will raise both hands in the air and make a loud noise...almost like he's singing from the highest mountain top! SO CUTE!
-Loves Loves Loves tractors and trucks
-Loves to sit in our laps and read stories (his favorites are: Farm Friends, Elmo Opposites, Where's Spot, Tractor book, Brown Bear)
-When he makes his animal noises
-After bath time when he plays around on our bed!
-How he takes his snacks and crawls under the kitchen table to eat them
-How he smiles that sweet grin when we've been away from him
-When we pass someone in a store or out playing he always waves and says "hi" or "bye" (our little Mayor!)
-Watching him learn new concepts and play independently
Who am I kidding, everything this sweet boy does, I LOVE and am SO proud of him! He's such a treasure and joy and I'm so very grateful to call him SON!

After a long long week, Wes, Weston, and I packed the 4Runner up and headed to Branson, Missouri to spend a week at K-Kauai Kanakuk Family Kamp! I had my reservations about the camp ie. the mess hall (dining experience) and the sleeping situation, BUT both exceeded my low expecations! Infact, the whole camp was way better than I thought it'd be! We had such a wonderful time, so much so, we weren't ready to leave on day 7! Kanakuk does a wonderful job from keeping areas clean, having wonderful loving staff members, back up plans during the torrential downpours, even the food was great! Wes and I hope to go back again...next year...and the year after, and so on! =)
Highlights: weston and wes going down the water slide! Getting coffee and ice cream at the bean, everyday! playing jenga with weston at the bean! Doing ropes course and zipline with Wes! Having alone time with Wes! Enjoying wonderful worship and lessons from Matt Chandler! Getting to know other CGF staff members and their sweet families! Playing putt-putt! It was all so much fun!
